Slash’s live gear has seen some major changes for 2010 – it’s a simplified setup using less guitars and less rack gear but adds a set of FX pedals in front of the amp.
Main Guitars
The main guitars used during Slash’s 2010 solo tour are*:
Appetite For Destruction Prototype #1 (normal tuning)
AFD VOS Backup (normal tuning or dropped D for Slither & Rise Today)
Inspired-By Slash Prototype #1 2008 (E-Flat)
AFD VOS Backup (E-Flat)
Slash USA Les Paul Goldtop + Backup (Open D-Flat with raised action for slide work on Beggars & Hangers-On)
Gibson Les Paul Axcess Standard + Backup (E-Flat)
*the pictures show production models. Slash is mostly using his prototypes (except for Les Paul Axcess).
Slash’s FX Board
All effects and settings are controlled by Slash’s guitar tech Chet Haun. The graphic below shows the pedals in their order and with the settings taken from various backstage videos and photos:
Notes:
- The SmartGate is set to zero. The main noise and hum elimination comes from the Ebtech Hum Eliminator 8
- The tuner is mainly used to mute the signal
- The Boost/Line Driver is normally set to around +13dB or +20dB when needed
- The Stereo Chorus is used during Paradise City and Suckertrain Blues with the following settings:
- Paradise City:
- Intensity @ 11 o’clock
- Width @ 11 o’clock
- Rate @ 1 o’clock
- Sucker Train Blues:
- Intensity @ 3 o’clock
- Width @ 1 o’clock
- Rate @ 3-4 o’clock

More Information Coming Soon!
I’m working on adding more details about the amps, soon. If you have suggestions or corrections, please put them in the comments.

Really nice website, very userfriendly and good looking.
One quick thing: you forgot to list the Gibson LP Snakepit as his instruments for the 2010 tour. At least, he played in San Francisco (where I was)..
Thanks and keep adding to the website, I put it in my favourites.

That’s awesome! Does anyone know the strap model and brand that slash, izzy and these guys use? they always use the same! it just seems more confortable than mine, HAHAHA
Hey Thor
the straps are often custom made ones. One company that makes straps for Slash & co. is Red Monkey. I don’t think it’s officially “endorsed” but they have a line of straps called “slasher”… I think it’s safe to assume they are modelled after the ones they made for Slash.
Check it out here:

thank you Attila, you guys really know everything about Slash, in the end, it’s our job right? hahahaha, byeee
Haha it’s not my job but this site has been online for almost 10 years and you tend to come across the same questions a lot
If you want to find out more, check out the forums, too. Most questions were answered there before! Or just comment here
one last thing…does he use these redmonkey straps since the 90′s? cuz i always see izzy and slash using the same kind of leather strap, and i was wondering if i could get one of those
I was in SF myself, totally awesome show. I have some pix from that night os Slash with that guitar, if you’d like to see them I’ll be more then happy to send them you’re way. He used it on “Beggars and Hangers On.”
One question for the experts here:
On the live Live in Stoke DVD in every solo Slash has a great sound with a hall effect, which is turned off in the rythm parts of the songs. What hall effect does Slash use and anyone knows the settings?
Sorry, the correct name is reverb effect.
Anyone can help?
Hi im wondering smth does the fx board pedal is running directly to his front amp in? it seem the cable dont go to the fx loop
