I posted this guitar up on the forum a couple of years ago for a UK only sale and didn't have much luck, however I am now willing to consider international offers.
It's BC Rich Custom Shop Mockingbird SL in Trans Red. It comes fitted with S&D Pickups, all of the usual active electronics and a floyd rose trem. It's been recently setup, plays real nice and comes in a hard case. New here in the UK these guitars will set you back a whopping £4,000, I am looking to get £1,699 for mine. I would prefer a UK deal and collection but am willing to ship providing that it is fully insured and paid for my the buyer.
Wow! I don't have £1,699 to pay for it so I can't buy it (if I could I so would! ) But I'd like to ask a couple of questions anyway: 1: Is that a vintage mockingbird from like the 80's? Or is it a modern one built to look like the old ones? 2: In picture 5, under the bridge the body has some black marks on it, were they there when you got it? 3: What's the writing on the back in picture 7?
1: It's not a vintage model, it's the Slash Signature model created a few years back. 2: The black marks are part of the wood grain and were there when I got it. 3: That is Bernie Rico Jr's signature. He's the current owner and son of BC Rich founder, Bernado Chavez Rico.
Very nice gtr! I don't think they are worth 4k but your price seems reasonable... I'm not looking for one right now but good luck. I hope you find a buyer and she'll get a new home soon :slash:
ok that's cool. But if it was the model made a few years ago then how come it has the original headstock? Because I was window-shopping for BC Rich mockingbirds and all I could find was the new ones, no-one seems to have the old ones anymore (hence why I was so excited when I saw this post :D)
hey not sure what year this was posted doesnt seem to be showing the year, but anyway just wanted to add Just after Bernie Rico died BC Rich was sold to another company Bernie Rico Jr makes his own guitars and has his own company now (www.ricojrguitars.com) (As of 2001[update], no member of the Rico family is involved in the company.)
