    The last major update of the forum was before twitter or facebook even existed so I think it's time to do this. People can now use their twitter or facebook accounts to register much easier and you can vote things up or down and subscribe to things.

    Let me know if you're having problems with anything. It's a bit of a test and I hope I can stick to this one because the old forum seems so clunky and slow and let's face it... Ezzy was the only one still posting :lol: It's strange to see that there were so MANY people lurking all the time! So I want this forum to be more open and easier to access for people who used to read and never post.

    Anyway, let me know if you have problems, ideas or anything else you want to talk about.

    Being an old, grumpy man at heart, I obviously don't like it, but I can see the need for both change and people other than Ezzy. No offense Ezzy.

    Is there a way to jump directly to the last post of a.. non.. thread still by the way, or even to the last unread?

    Oh, the quotes all seem to be broken though. Might work on future posts, but the previous billion look broken.

    good points, Dagh! The way to get to the old post would be with the "last page" at the bottom of the long thread. That's only relevant for the spamming threads like random picture though. Every other thread would be more interesting to read in the right order (old -> new). I'll keep it in mind and maybe I'll find a way to make it easier to go straight to the latest post. The unread ones should be pretty clear to see if you're logged in. 

    I'll have a look at the quotes. Still haven't figured out what format they are expecting. Once I have figured it out, I'll do a big search/replace hoping I won't break any of the 400000 posts :lol:

    there's a similar problem with the youtube videos but most of them are already replaced. There are too many different ways people put youtube videos in and there's just no way of automagically fixing all of them.

    I'm new here so, firstly, I don't if I am posting in the right topic. :p  I'm finding it a bit confusing to work in this forum. It is differente from the others forum. Can you tell how it works overall?

    Hey henriled! You've come to the right topic! :lol:

    I'm still working out a few issues here and there but the idea is that this forum shows you a summary of things people talk about and not the "traditional forum way" where you click on a "folder" and then you see all the things people talk about in there. Instead you have the category links on the right side where you can browse or you can jump straight to the search if you're looking for something that someone already asked (like "slash's top hat" or "i want to meet slash there and there. make it happen")...

    The cool thing about this setup is that you can see a summary of everything in 1 view and that search is much simpler...

    I'm still trying to work it out myself :lol:

    Can't say I'm a huge fan of the new setup but I'm sure I'll get used to it. Do miss being able to jump right to the last post though.



    And for the life of me I can't find the smilies, lol.

    The episodes are all still there! we could add a section if you build up your audience to more than 3 :lol:

    on another note: I think most quotes are fixed now. all 200000+ of them painstakingly replaced

    I made some changes and disabled a few things to try and speed things up. Nevaratoiel sent me an email with some problems she's been having. Hopefully this solves it.
